CRIME ALERT--We received this CRIME ALERT from Sgt. Tom Ashcraft, City of Lawrence Crime Watch Coordinator:
There have been two cases involving attempted daytime burglaries over the last two days--Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9, both between 10:30am and 11:00am.
The suspect knocks on the front door and if no one answers, goes to the rear of the house, kicks in the door and enters.
In both cases the homeowner was at home and the subject fled the scene after he had kicked the door in and saw the house was occupied.
The following are two descriptions of the suspect: a young white male possibly driving a four-door, mid-sized tan vehicle or a thin white male, approximately thirty years old, wearing tan clothes, and possibly driving a dark colored Jeep Cherokee.
The locations of these incidents are 7100 Block of Niles Court in Fox Pointe, and 11400 block of Geist Valley in Geist Valley Estates.
We are asking residents to be on the lookout and report any suspicious vehicles or persons in you neighborhood.
