Expenses & Dues

Update on 2009-10 expenses and plans for 2010-2011 dues:

We are working hard to preserve our neighborhood's property values. As a result, in 2009-2010 we spent additional $'s on two projects (as a result of your input on the 2009-2010 survey):
1) $1745.03 on refinishing the lampposts and replacing the lamp globes in the Fox Rd. entrance
2) $851.50 on landscaping plants and materials for the median on the Fox Rd. entrance

This year we need to work on two additional items:

BLUE STAR BANNER INITIATIVE
FROM MAYOR PAUL RICKETTS

Like most of you, it is my belief the City of Lawrence, which was the home of Ft. Benjamin Harrison for almost a century, is a city that should not lose its outstanding military heritage now that the Army post is closed. We are proud that our City continues to enjoy a busy, active PX/Commissary, a U.S. Army Reserve center and a new Indiana National Guard Armory, called the Lawrence Readiness Center, which is currently under construction. However, with all of that there is something missing.

Trial Lamp Post Globe Replacement

Dear Echo Pointe Residents,

After the recent survey attached to your annual dues letter, replacing/updating the lamp posts in the front entrance came second as the most important project to tackle (landscaping first).

I've found a company that makes replacement lamp post globes that fit our existing lamp post. Replacing the globes fits within our budget. Replacing the posts does not.

Crime Alert

A message from atGeist.net:

CRIME ALERT--We received this CRIME ALERT from Sgt. Tom Ashcraft, City of Lawrence Crime Watch Coordinator:

There have been two cases involving attempted daytime burglaries over the last two days--Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9, both between 10:30am and 11:00am.

The suspect knocks on the front door and if no one answers, goes to the rear of the house, kicks in the door and enters.

In both cases the homeowner was at home and the subject fled the scene after he had kicked the door in and saw the house was occupied.

Post Office Box Problems

Hello again neighbors!

It seems that the Oaklandon post office is still having issues with it's post office boxes. We have heard from 5 residents whose payment envelopes were returned from the post office stating that the PO Box is closed.

If you are one of the handfull of people this has happened to, please know the PO Box is open...we have received over 20 payments so far and have been receiving mail all year. We are so sorry for the inconvenience and ask that you please call us at 317-466-0950 or just bring your check by in person. We live at 11111 Echo Grove Lane.

We should have a lot of traffic overflow from Feather Cove I and all the Geist Harbor neighborhoods who will also be having a sale.

Stolen Car

The following letter is from an Echo Pointe resident:

Hello,

I wish I was contacting all of you under better circumstances. I just want to give all of you heads up about crime in our area.
